Clacky is a mechanical keyboard for your iPhone. Every key sinks, springs back and clacks. Pick from eight designs, and each one brings its own switch.
The TestFlight beta opens in about 2–3 weeks, in English and 日本語.
It’s the part of a keyboard people fall for. The little travel, the spring and the sound, now under your thumbs, in the apps you already type in.
The joy of it
- Keys that really moveEvery key sinks under your thumb and springs back with a little overshoot, like the real thing.
- A sound to get hooked onCreamy, thocky or clicky. Keys on the left sound left, and keys on the right sound right.
- Felt in your thumbsA soft tap of haptics on each press, so typing stops feeling like tapping on glass.
- Eight designs, eight switchesEach one looks and sounds different. Swipe the keys to change whenever your mood does.
- An unboxing, every timeBuying a keyboard is half the fun. Cut the tape, peel the film, and hear it type its own name.
- A desk toy in your pocketLift any keyboard out of the list and press every key, just because it feels good.
The essentials
- Stays on your iPhoneWhat you type isn’t sent anywhere. The keyboard has no networking code, accounts, ads or analytics.
- Pay onceTwo designs are free. The rest are $1.99 each, or $6.99 for all of them. No subscription.
- Try before you buyTest every design’s keys and sound in the app before you pay for anything.
- English and 日本語Romaji to kanji conversion runs on your iPhone, so it works offline too.
- Still a smart keyboardAutocorrect, suggestions and an emoji panel, so you give up nothing to get the clack.
- In the apps you already useAdd it once and it’s there for your messages, notes and mail.
Sound, haptics and paid designs need iOS’s Allow Full Access. Typing with the free designs works without it, and iOS uses its own keyboard for passwords. How your privacy is protected.
